FEATURED FROM MY FRIENDS | MARTA AND THE SHAPES
Marta does not consider herself a photographer. I disagree. Neither Robert Mapplethorpe did: he made collages, paintings, but one day he was given a camera ... And he continued making art, but with a new instrument.
Marta, first of all, and perhaps most important, is an artist. And a photographer.
Marta does not photograph landscapes, or people in studio, or architecture, or makes macros. That is already made by others: academic images, perfectly executed in terms of composition, technique, treatment of light. Excellent images, yes, but in many cases with no soul. And not remembered, either.
Marta does not need the perfect control of the photographic technique: diaphragm, shutter, depth of field, white balance, highlights... Her photographs have enough expressive power to make the former factors secondary. In Marta the most important thing is the idea, the concept, the aesthetics breaking, the originality.
We find a constant evolution in her work: from her first images, which experimented with flowers, soaps, everyday objects, where the colour and the finesse were protagonists. The chromatic aspect was gradually substituted by a different aesthetic, more elaborate perhaps, which was timidly breaking through. His photographs added forcefulness; they impact from a visual point of view: shapes, lines, groundbreaking compositions, abstract touches, sometimes minimalist, but always suggestive ... She works with very simple elements which seem to appear from nowhere. Martha is able to develop a picture that can´t exactly be described as a photograph, a collage, a graphic design or a canvas. The important thing is the final result, not the support.
About Martha´s work, I like her originality and her ability to explore, not to stand still.
I would also point out her many Featured, that are not but an extension of her peculiar way of understanding photography. With foreign elements, she organizes compositions, "her compositions", because, somehow, they are part of her work.
Marta's work is extensive. I´ve spent a hard time choosing those pieces that I prefer, according to my personal choice. And here I show them to you all.

FEATURED FROM MY FRIENDS | ANA AND THE PHOTOGRAPHY
From today, month by month, I will start with a series of featured from my friends, with whom I share many things in DA talks, favs, knowledge, different points of view ... friends, yes, but a
